• Use Fly Exterminator. Fly Exterminator is a Mixed-Reality (MR) video game for the Meta Quest 3 where players chase around and catch virtual flies that interact with the real world.

Fly Exterminator — Data We Collect and Your Choices

Fly Exterminator is a mixed-reality game for Meta Quest headsets. Depending on how you play, we may process different types of information.

Offline play

If you choose Offline play (or play without enabling online features):

• Game progress, unlocks, settings, and lifetime statistics are stored locally on your headset (for example, in JSON files under the app’s persistent data path and in Unity PlayerPrefs).
• We do not initialize Unity Gaming Services, submit scores to leaderboards, or send gameplay analytics.
• Mixed-reality features (passthrough, room setup, hand tracking) are handled by Meta’s platform and device software on your headset. We do not receive your raw room mesh or camera video on our servers.

Online play

If you choose Online play:

• The game signs you in through Meta (Oculus) platform authentication, which is linked to Unity Gaming Services (UGS) Authentication.
• We receive and use a platform user identifier and display name (for example, your Meta/Oculus name, which Unity may append with a numeric suffix for uniqueness) to identify your account and show your name on leaderboards.
• When you complete a qualifying run, we submit your score and compact run metadata (game mode, flies caught, play time, room area estimates, difficulty options, and similar gameplay statistics) to Unity Gaming Services Leaderboards. Leaderboard entries may be visible to other players.
• Online features require an internet connection. You can switch to Offline play in Settings to stop future cloud uploads (existing cloud leaderboard entries are not automatically deleted).

Analytics (online only, optional)

If you are in Online play, we may ask whether you allow gameplay analytics via Unity Gaming Services Analytics. Analytics is off unless you opt in (first launch prompt and Settings toggle).

If you allow analytics, we send event data to Unity, such as:

• run_completed — mode, score, play time, kills, difficulty/loadout options, room area estimates, whether a score was submitted to leaderboards
• run_abandoned — mode and exit reason
• tutorial_funnel — tutorial step and completion/abandon counts
• leaderboard_submit — submit success/failure, rank, and percentile when applicable
• visit_ended — session length and visit counts
• player_profile — aggregated lifetime stats (games completed, favorite mode, visit habits, etc.), sent periodically or after certain milestones

Analytics events may include your UGS player ID and platform key (for example, meta). They do not include your email address unless you separately provide it to us.

If you deny analytics or turn it off in Settings, we stop sending new analytics events. Leaderboards and authentication may still work if Online play is enabled.

Local preferences

Regardless of mode, the app may store on-device preferences such as audio levels, tutorial progress flags, analytics consent choice, and online/offline mode selection.

Data deletion

To request deletion of data we control (including leaderboard or analytics data associated with your account, where applicable), contact fly.exterminator@boundaryinteractive.com. Some data may also be managed through Meta or Unity account/platform tools as described in their privacy policies.

Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.

Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:

• usernames

• email addresses

Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.

Fly Exterminator (game app). For data collected when you play Fly Exterminator on Meta Quest, see Fly Exterminator — Data We Collect and Your Choices above. The game does not offer Facebook, X/Twitter, or other social media logins.

Contact information. If you email us or contact us through support channels, we may collect your name, email address, or other information you choose to provide.

All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

Information automatically collected (website only)

In Short: If you visit our website, some technical information may be collected automatically.

When you visit our website (for example, boundaryinteractive.com), we may collect limited device and usage information needed to operate the site. Fly Exterminator gameplay data collection is described in the Fly Exterminator — Data We Collect and Your Choices section. Fly Exterminator does not collect GPS location; mixed-reality room sizing is derived locally on your headset, not from GPS.

2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We process the personal information for the following purposes listed below. We may also process your information for other purposes only with your prior explicit consent.

We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:

• To request feedback. We may process your information when necessary to request feedback and to contact you about your use of our Services.

• To identify usage trends. We may process information about how you use our Services to better understand how they are being used so we can improve them.

3. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON TO PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

• Understand how our users use our products and services so we can improve user experience

• If disclosure is required to comply with a subpoena, warrant, court order, or rules of the court relating to the production of records

• We may disclose de-identified information for approved research or statistics projects, subject to ethics oversight and confidentiality commitments

4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

In Short: We may share information in specific situations described in this section and/or with the following third parties.

We may need to share your personal information in the following situations:

• Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

5. HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?

Not applicable to Fly Exterminator. The game does not offer registration or login through Facebook, X/Twitter, or other third-party social media accounts. Online play uses Meta (Oculus) platform authentication as described in Fly Exterminator — Data We Collect and Your Choices.

6. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

7. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

8. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In Short: Depending on your state of residence in the US or in some regions, such as the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), Switzerland, and Canada, you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information. You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time, depending on your country, province, or state of residence.

In some regions (like the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; (iv) if applicable, to data portability; and (v) not to be subject to automated decision-making. If a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects is made solely by automated means, we will inform you, explain the main factors, and offer a simple way to request human review. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

If you are located in the EEA or UK and you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your Member State data protection authority or UK data protection authority.

If you are located in Switzerland, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section “HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?” below.

However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

9. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.

California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.

10. DO UNITED STATES RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?

We may use your personal information for our own business purposes, such as for undertaking internal research for technological development and demonstration. This is not considered to be “selling” of your personal information.

We have not sold personal information. We share data with service providers (Unity Technologies and Meta Platforms Technologies) to operate Fly Exterminator online features as described in Service providers for Fly Exterminator. We will not sell personal information in the future.

Your Rights

You have rights under certain US state data protection laws. However, these rights are not absolute, and in certain cases, we may decline your request as permitted by law. These rights include:

Under certain US state data protection laws, you can designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may deny a request from an authorized agent that does not submit proof that they have been validly authorized to act on your behalf in accordance with applicable laws.

Request Verification

Upon receiving your request, we will need to verify your identity to determine you are the same person about whom we have the information in our system. We will only use personal information provided in your request to verify your identity or authority to make the request. However, if we cannot verify your identity from the information already maintained by us, we may request that you provide additional information for the purposes of verifying your identity and for security or fraud-prevention purposes.

If you submit the request through an authorized agent, we may need to collect additional information to verify your identity before processing your request and the agent will need to provide a written and signed permission from you to submit such request on your behalf.

Appeals

Under certain US state data protection laws, if we decline to take action regarding your request, you may appeal our decision by emailing us at fly.exterminator@boundaryinteractive.com. We will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including a written explanation of the reasons for the decisions. If your appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to your state attorney general.

California “Shine The Light” Law

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year.
